As we get older, we’re not all looking to train for an Iron Man or develop a perfect six-pack. For some of us, especially as we reach our mid-forties and beyond, getting fit might simply mean improving our ability to perform the activities of our daily lives or leading a more active and healthy lifestyle.
I’m committed to helping people improve their fitness levels, but not just by pumping iron or staring at a TV screen on a treadmill. My priority is to understand your health and fitness goals, and then to work with you to achieve these in a way that’s most appropriate for you; sometimes just a few small changes to your exercise and diet regime can make a huge difference and generate some great results.
I’ve been passionate about sport all my life and an active participant over the years, most significantly in football, tennis, skiing and cycling. As I’ve got older and experienced different injuries and changes in my own biomechanics, my training as a sports massage therapist and personal trainer has enabled me to adapt the approach to my own fitness programme to make sure that exercise still has a positive benefit for me.
Since hitting 50 I’ve cycled from London to Paris and taken part in the 100 mile ‘Ride London’ event, raising money for Cancer Research.
After 25+ years in corporate life I felt it was time for a change in direction to pursue a more rewarding career, using my training to develop fitness and exercise programmes which help over 45s (and some still a little younger!) to stay fitter for longer.
